You know what I see a lot on LinkedIn?
People writing like they’re giving a keynote.
Perfectly polished. Tightly packaged. Zero room for feedback.
I know this because I was doing the same.
Posts that sounded preachy, not participatory.
Like I was broadcasting on a podium instead of opening up a conversation.
But that’s not how content thrives.
Not anymore.
Your Content is a Feedback Loop
A few weeks back, someone left a comment on my post.It said:
“Great content doesn’t end at publish. It starts with what comes back.”
It hit me hard.
I realized I was treating my audience like listeners — not contributors.
I was missing the conversation.
Comments, DMs, replies — those are your customer research.
They’re not noise. They’re the content strategy.
Here’s What I’m Changing (and You Might Want To, Too)
This shift wasn’t just philosophical — it’s practical.
Here’s what I’m now doing every week:
1. Ask real questions
Not “engagement bait” like “coffee or tea?”
But questions I actually want to hear answers to.
And then — shocker — I read them. Carefully.
2. Steal their exact words
When someone says something that clicks?
I swipe it. Word-for-word.
Because if they felt it, others will too. It becomes my next hook.
3. Watch for gut-punch DMs
Some of my best posts started with someone privately venting.
A story. A one-liner. A throwaway comment.
If it made me feel something, it’ll do the same for my audience.
Audience-Led Content = Infinite Ideas
Think about it:
Your audience is already telling you what matters to them.
You don’t need to guess.
You need to listen.
Let them feed the loop.
Your next idea is hiding in someone else’s comment — not your to-do list.
